I am a highly committed UI Front-End developer experienced with HTML5, CSS (Sass/BEM) and JavaScript.

With good knowledge of user-centric design principles, I have built front-end components for blue chip brand websites including the likes of Elle, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping Institute, among others.

Aware of ever evolving stacks and trends, I have focused my career on CSS challenges and constantly building upon my knowledge of vanilla JavaScript. Currently investing on learning modern frameworks, React is the library I intend to master.

Over the last 4 years, I've used Git to manage parallel development of large codebases at Hearst Magazines and other projects.

I have experience on overseeing code quality and manage the work of front-end developers across different countries. Always stepping out of my comfort zone in order to learn new skills and be of a greater asset to the team around me.

Currently working as Senior Front-End Developer for Trendstop with no availability for new consultancy clients.

Example of: Saas, HTML5, jQuery, Twig (PHP templating language), Craft CMS and ExpressionEngine builds

The role required strong emphasis on performance and clean, well structured code under extremely tight deadlines.

CLD Agency

Hearst UK: Cosmopolitan, Elle, Harper's Bazaar and Esquire (UK brands) ~ October 2015 - June 2017

Example of: technical leadership, Saas, HTML5, Twig (PHP templating language)

During a huge platform migration effort that started on October 2015, I've been responsible for overseeing the front-end implementation of modules and functionality of Hearst European sites.

Along with the Head of Development, I work directly with Product Managers, Project Managers, QA teams and UX designers, helping to drive clear communication and development processes that streamline delivery and benefits the product.

Version control: The site was locally developed using Amazon EC2 instances and the Gitflow workflow.

Hearst UK: Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI) ~ June 2014 - October 2015

Example of: ExpressionEngine (EE) build and front-end implementation.

As the front-end lead, I developed the CSS architecture using Sass to ensure modularity and the toolkit Susy for the grid. Working along with back-end developers, we created the first mobile-friendly build for a product reviews website in the UK.

It involved creating ExpressionEngine templates to output the GHI's large range of product tests and consumer advice articles. The website went live in November 2014.

Increasing mobile traffic was key to start a second iteration. Final mobile-friendly build was launched on September 2015.

On April 2017, during an internal awards ceremony, the GHI site was recognized as the International Website of the Year.

Key EE add-ons used: Matrix, Playa, Zenbu, GWcode Categories, Low Seg2Cat.

GoLocalise ~ June 2012 - Nov 2013

Example of: content audit, responsive layout, CSS3, HTML5, localised design, ExpressionEngine built.

GoLocalise website has over 6GB of data translated and organised into 9 different languages. Following an extensive content audit, I designed responsive layouts and made localised interfaces to serve all the languages involved.

A key challenge was to build an interactive gallery of hundreds of voiceover artists showcasing all their video and audio demos.

Key EE add-ons used:Matrix, Playa, Publisher, Stash and Freeform.

Christian. The Law Firm ~ July 2011 - Jan 2012

Example of: responsive web design, HTML5, CSS3, ExpressionEngine.

The team at this London-based law firm wanted to be able to maintain the content themselves, and in terms of layout, they were keen to make it flexible and adaptable to mobile devices.

BBC World Service ~ October 2005 - August 2011

Example of: web projects coordination.

For 6 years I played the role of special projects coordinator which involved providing solid concepts on the look and feel as well as HTML/CSS prototyping work for the BBC's Latin American presence. I dealt with editors, programmers, designers, copy writers and project managers with the goal of recreating web content and make it much more effective and memorable for online users.
